Just some crazy pictures....

We have gone to a couple of Mad Ants games this season and each time we do, they give us a couple of pom poms for each of the boys. The boys have gotten creative with them...

Buildings...

Every once in a while I figure it is time to clean out the toy room. Usually this is an opportunity for me to get rid of the toys that nobody is playing with. That day hasn't happened yet, but I had in mind one box that I was going to donate to a worthy cause. I was a box of the colorful wooden blocks that we picked up a rummage sale a while ago. I think they are great, the problem is they rarely get played with so why keep them...
It seems I waited to long (or just long enough depending on how you look at it). I walked into the toy room today and there the box was... off the shelf with two little boys building creations out of their new found blocks.

Truthfully I should know better than to get rid of anything related to building in our house. I guess this is one box that will stay on the shelves a bit longer.

Biking progress...

With JJ's new bike, Seth got a new bike too! He had outgrown the one he learned to peddle on last year. We put the training wheels back on JJ's old bike and Seth took it for a spin. The smile on his face says it all!

In addition to the boys with new bikes, Noah is continuing to learn to ride without training wheels. We took them off in the fall and he was making progress. This spring it took a little refresher but by the second time out, he is even able to start himself (most of the time).

JJ's New Bike!

Last spring Zeke needed a new bike. We went to a few stores and our limited budget was an issue. When we found one for Zeke it was on clearance and there were two of them. They were a great deal and so we decided to get them both knowing that JJ would need one this summer. The bike was way to big for JJ last summer and we told him that by this spring he would be big enough for it! There were many disappointing moments for JJ while he waited to be big enough. Last summer he would ask on a regular basis. Over the winter months with the bikes put away, he stopped asking.
As the weather warmed and the talk turned to bike riding, JJ asked again..."Am I big enough now?"
We pulled out the bikes and brought the new bike for JJ upstairs. I was a little concerned knowing that JJ is both a couple of months younger than Zeke was at this time last year and that he tends to be a little shorter than Zeke was at his age. We got the bike out and lowered the seat and then it was time for the test. His toes barely touch the ground, but he was so excited and he figured out how to tip the bike to the side a little so that he could get it started. He is enjoying the new bike!

Visitors...

Uncle Jeff, Aunt Jess, Carter and Ali came to visit on their way home from Florida. They arrived on Friday night and left Sunday morning. Zeke was so excited for his cousins to get here, that when they pulled in our driveway he said, "I have waited my whole life for this..." Later he adjusted his statement to the more accurate, "maybe it was just all day..."

Our Saturday was spent enjoying each others company and enjoying a taste of spring.

On Saturday morning we went to Science Central and explored the museum for a bit. (Sorry, the camera was left at home, so I have no pictures).

Then on Saturday afternoon we got together a game of backyard baseball and grilled out.

After Supper we headed to the park, where we played a game of Frisbee Golf. We also played at the playground.

While at the playground, Zeke showed off his Monkey Bar skills and the adults got in on the fun too!

After playing at the park we went to Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat!

From the looks of Seth, it was enjoyed!

We enjoyed their visit and hope that they come back to visit soon!

Project Day...

Every once in awhile we set aside the school books for a day and just enjoy a project day. Usually this is a time for the boys to get whatever recycled items or craft items we have saved up and we glue and tape things together into a creation that they choose. This month they all chose to build robots out of old soda bottles, acorns and popsicle sticks.
JJ and Zeke built R2D2 robots.

Noah was quite creative with his... He makes use of as many materials as he possibly can. Seth kept his simple with some felt and popsicle sticks.

Mad Ants 2...

Tonight the seminary sponsored a Mad Ants night for the seminary families. So we headed out for another night at the Basketball court.
Our night started with a trip to the VIP room for snacks and a pep talk from the coach.

Then we went into the game against the Dakota Wizards. The game had a good start and they were leading at the end of the first half. The Half time show included a high flying show from the Mascots for the Indiana Pacers, Boomer and Bowser. After 3 quarters, our young family (with the exception of Zeke) was read to pack up and head home. While, it didnt' look promising for a win for the Mad Ants by that time, we enjoyed our night out together.

Happy Birthday JJ!

JJ turned 6 years old today. We celebrated in the usual Potts' family style.
Dinner was the choice of the Birthday Boy. We used to go to IHOP every once in a while for their funny face pancakes. It is a big pancake served with fruit and yogurt in a tube to decorate the pancake like a face. This was one of JJ's favorites, but it has gotten a little on the expensive side, so we now make it a treat for home! This was his choice for a Birthday dinner.

After dinner we have cake. JJ chose to have clown cupcakes again for his birthday this year. We also use this opportunity to light their baptism candles to remind them that they have been chosen by God through their baptisms.

Then of course there are also the presents! This year JJ recieved a big game book, some gears toys, a KNEX set, clothes, Thomas Trains and an I SPY game.

And an old favorite from Chad's childhood... The spanking tunnel...

Happy Birthday JJ!

Home Depot Ramps...

Each month Home Depot does a Kid's Workshop, where the kids get to build a project. We have done a number of these over the past couple of years. This month they made ramps with little cars. It was great fun for the boys and they have enjoyed playing with them and decorating them since they have been home.

JJ's First Birthday Celebration...

Tonight we did our usual trip to Chuck E. Cheese for a Birthday Bash. (Sorry I forgot to take the camera with me). JJ is turning 6 next week and since Chad was off of school this week, we decided to celebrate a little early.

JJ invited his friend, Nigel Hoem. Together we had a little pizza, played a few games and collected some very cool prizes for JJ's Birthday!
